This is an incredible map showing details of the
Battle of Yorktown in the Revolutionary War. The map is original,
and was created in 1781. The map is titled, "Plan of York Town and
Gloucester in Virginia, showing the works constructed for the
defense of those posts by
General Earl Cornwallis, with the attacks
of the combined army of French and rebels (Patriots) under the
command of the Generals Count de Rochambeau and
George Washington
which capitulated October 1781."
