Ulysses S. Grant as President

This is one of the better portraits of U. S. Grant, as President of the United States. The image shows a tired and sullen man.  Perhaps the Presidency weighed even heavier on Grant than the incredible responsibility of leading the Army of the Potomac.

NOTES

President Ulysses S. Grant, half-length portrait, seated, facing right.
