Prevost, AUGUSTINE, British officer; born in Geneva, Switzerland, about 1725; served as captain under Wolfe at Quebec; distinguished himself in Georgia, especially in his defense of Savannah, in 1779. for which he was promoted to major-general. He died in Barnett, England, May 5. 1786.
