Wagon Train

You are viewing a stunning illustration of a Civil War wagon train, sketched by an eye-witness.  The illustration is captioned, "Halt of a Wagon Train.".  While no artist is mentioned, and the piece is not signed, it is believed to have been sketched by Winslow Homer.  The picture has the unmistakable Homer style. A number of wagons can be seen, along with Horses and Mules.  Soldiers are shown in the foreground, relaxing around a campfire.
