Furlough

You are viewing stunning Civil War image of Volunteer Soldiers returning home on Furlough.  The image celebrates this happy occasion by showing soldiers stepping off a train, and being greeted by their jubilant family.  A man can be seen hugging and kissing his wife.  His child has his pack and rifle, and is celebrating the return of his father.  A tattered flag is seen in the background, doubtless having seen duty, like the soldiers on recent battlefields.  A dog is pictured in the foreground, welcoming his master home.  This illustration shows the happy occasion of a Soldier returning home on Furlough
