Inauguration

You are viewing a stunning illustration of the second inauguration of President Abraham Lincoln. An enormous crows is seen before the US capitol. The United States flag flies proudly over the proceeding. The president stands on the front stairs of the capitol. The capitol dome had only recently been completed. The image captures the excitement of the day. The Nation sensed that the bloody Civil War, would soon be over, and Lincoln did not disappoint, giving what many considered one of the best speeches in United States History.
