War illustration. The leaf is from an 1863 Harper's Weekly newspaper. The
leaf is captioned, "The Prisons at Richmond- Union Prisoners at Belle Isle."
The print shows starving Union prisoners in the prison at Richmond.
The men are emaciated, and obviously starved to the point of death. |
